A tragic passing

The Korean entertainment industryexperienced a tragic loss recentlywith the death veteran of actressHan Kyung Sun. In what can only be considered a series of unfortunate events, the actress was reported to have lost consciousness on June 30 after having a meal with the staff of her daily drama. The actress was taken to the ICU and wasdiagnosed with cerebral infarction which caused her to suffer a stroke. She passed away painlessly and peacefully on July 4 at midnight, after being in a critical condition for several days. Her vigil was held at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, and her funeral procession was this past July 6. Our hearts go out to all the people who held Han Kyung Sun near and dear to their hearts and hope that the actress is in a better place.

Luhan keeping busy in China

Luhan's popularity in China managed to shock Hollywood A-list celeb Matt Damon! The 'Bourne' actor who recently wrapped up filming a US-China joint movie 'The Great Wall' with the singer, expressed his astonishment at Luhan's popularity in China as he told the audience at "The Great Wall" press conference, "I think the first night where we started shooting there was something like 400 flower arrangements that came to the hotel and took up the entire hallway."

Luhan has not only been keeping busy with filming but he has also been productive by rubbing shoulders with artists in China! The singerreleased a song with David Tao called "Please Come to the Great Wall to Ski," which will be the theme song to China's 2022 Winter Olympics.

T-ara's Jiyeon and Lee Dong Gun a hot new item?

The Korean entertainment world has been rampant with dating news and it looks like T-ara's Jiyeon and actor Lee Dong Gun have joined the ranks of new celeb couples! It was reported that the two became interested in each other after filming a Korean-Chinese joint production.Both Lee Dong Gun and Jiyeon's agencies confirmed that the two are indeed dating. The singer opened up about her budding relationship with the actor as she told the reporters on the July 7 airing of 'The Show Season 4,'"It still hasn't hit me, and I really don't know."As for her fans, she commented,"Fans are people who always give me strength. This is the beginning if our relationship, so I'll be thankful if you look upon us kindly. I'll work harder as well."Jiyeon eventook to her fan cafeto write a heartfelt message to her fans. She asked them to "watch over us and cheer us on,"and promised that she will work ever harder to return their love.

You know who I'm talking about.Girl's Generation dropped their new song called "Party,"an upbeat, catchy summer dance track that makes for an incredibly fun listen! The MV for "Party"surpassed 1 million views in a matter of six hours on YouTubeandtook over the music chartsas soon as it was released, achieving nothing short of everyone's expectations as one of the biggest girl groups in the K-Pop scene.

Thegirls also talked about entering the so-called 'battlefield'as one the many girl groups to make a comeback this summer at the showcase for their new song. They said, "This was a long-awaited comeback.  It's been awhile since we made a summer comeback.  We wanted to coincide with the season when we came out, and we did spot on, so we're excited.  We're happy that our promotions overlap with other girl groups."and addressedhow their summer comeback will be coinciding with that of Wonder Girls,mentioning that it will be nice to be promoting around the same time with the gems of JYP, as they have been active for around the same time.

Violence doesn't solve anything

A comedian by the name ofRa Yoon Kyung has been suspected of physical assaultto parents from her child's school. Apparently, the parents had gathered at Ra Yoon Kyung's apartment to discuss the issue of bullying among their children. Their discussion soon escalated to a heated argument and turned violent when they the parents allegedlythrew a broken glass cup at her attacked her baby. Ra Yoon Kyung claimed that she was the victim of a one-sided attack but the parents refuted that claim, saying that the comedian returned their violence with violence. What each party is telling media outlets appear to be very different, and the truth behind their altercation has yet to be confirmed.

JYP debuting new girl group

If you have been following Mnet's 'SIXTEEN,' then you are probably aware that the show recently ended, withthe final members for JYP's new girl group TWICE having been decided. The final makeup were revealed to be a total of nine members instead of the original seven as J.Y. Park added on two additional girls on the last episode of 'SIXTEEN,' namely Momo and Tzuyu. J.Y. Park's sudden and seemingly unprecedented decision to add the two the last minute stirred up some controversy whichprompted the label to release a statement explaining their choice. They said, "Momo's performances are superior and is a member that TWICE certainly needs. There is definitely a reason we chose her." However, this short explanation wasn't enough for the public andJYPE had to release a lengthier explanation regarding their decision.

Girl's Day's rude behavior causes controversy

It seems Girl's Day had some issues with proper etiquette. The four-member girl groupwere recently guests on internet broadcast 'Koon TV,' which is hosted by BJ Choi Goon. On this particular show, the girls caught the attention of the public, and not in a good way. Leader Sojin, refused to eat the dumplings that Choi Goon bought specially for the girls, and Hyeri even spoke in informal speech towards the viewers. But it doesn't end there. The girls were also criticized for ignoring the host multiple times and for their generally irritable and surly manner. With the amount of backlash from this particular broadcast, the Girl's Day members appeared on 'Koon TV'for a second timeto offer a sincere apology. Let's hope that the Korean public will look upon them kindly and forgive them for their actions.
