‘Where Stars Land,’ ‘100 Days My Prince’ take top spots in viewership ratings

Two new dramas premiered Monday night on free-to-air networks MBC and SBS, kicking off another competition in viewership ratings. SBS’s romance series Where Stars Land emerged as the no. 1 free-to-air drama in the Monday-Tuesday time slot in terms of viewership, beating MBC’s family action drama Bad Papa.

According to Nielsen Korea, Where Stars Land obtained nationwide audience shares of 5.9 percent and 7.2 percent for its first and second episode, respectively, beating the 3.5 percent and 3.7 percent that were recorded by Bad Papa. KBS2’s horror romcom Lovely Horribly, meanwhile, comes in third in the ranking—recording 2.7 percent and 2.8 percent for its penultimate episodes last night. All three free-to-air dramas are broadcasted starting 22:00 Korean Standard Time.

Meanwhile, a new romance drama also aired its pilot episode on cable network JTBC—The Beauty Inside. Data from Nielsen Korea show that the series is off to a modest start with a nationwide and Seoul viewership rating of 2.882 percent and 3.068 percent, respectively. The new series was overshadowed by tvN’s period rom-com 100 Days My Prince which garnered a nationwide audience share of 7.991 percent and a Seoul viewership of 8.875 percent, both of which are the drama’s peak ratings so far. The Beauty Inside and 100 Days My Prince start their broadcast at 21:30 Korean Standard Time.
