First,Jo Dal-hwantook part in the calligraphy for the scenario cover.Jo Dal-hwanmet directorNa Hong-jincoincidentally in a private place.Jo Dal-hwanwho had always respectedNa Hong-jin's work, presented him with a hand-drawn title of "The Wailing".Jo Dal-hwanwrote the copy for "The Traffickers" himself and he even held a private exhibition once.

However, his writing wasn't used for the main poster. Only the scenario cover was done by him and given to Gwak Do-won,Hwang Jeong-min,Cheon Woo-heeandJun Kunimura.

Na Hong-jininvested 2 years and 8 months on the scenario of "The Wailing" alone. He came up with various interpretations and spend half a year on just the ending alone. He asked for the help of other movie makers, religious figures and many others to perfect the movie.

Meanwhile, "The Wailing" is a movie about the mysterious things that happen in Gokseong and it was invited to the 69th Cannes International Film Festival.
