[ASKKPOP] 'Witch Hunt's Kwak Jung Eun under fire for strange complaints about a taxi driver

Kwak Jung Eun, a permanent guest on 'Witch Hunt' and a sex columnist for Korea's 'Cosmopolitan', has come under fire for some of her tweets.

On the 22nd, shetweeted, "I got in the taxi, and as soon as I got in, the driver asked if I was going somewhere nice for the weekend. When I answered that I was working, he replied, 'How can such a pretty princess like you go work?' I was going to go to the Seoul Station since I got on, but I'm going to get off in the middle and take the subway."

She received a lot of confusion and criticism about how that was bad, especially since it was a common and relatively courteous conversation that taxi drivers make with their guests. Sheexplained, "I was very uncomfortable that an unfamiliar person judged me on my looks in a taxi I got on to commute. The concept that he couldn't understand why a pretty woman was working was also disgusting, and I did not like his tone treating me like an immature child by calling me a princess."

After her explanation, she received a lot more criticism, such as, "That taxi driver was just trying to make polite conversation. You were probably his daughter's age so he was being nice", "Isn't the normal response to something like that, 'Haha, thank you'?", "You complain when people call you ugly and you complain when people call you pretty", and "Do you actually have a normal life? How have you lived that you can twist something like that to be like criticism?".

She further tried to explain herself, saying, "All I did was write about how uncomfortable I felt, and people call me narrow minded, say I'm responding like that because I'm ugly, that I've degraded the taxi driver, that I should get mental treatment because I seem to be mentally ill, and some people even tell me to die... My heart aches for many reasons." Shecontinued, "I am so discouraged because people think that others who think differently are weird, and they think they can write anything they want hidden behind anonymity. But I won't stop Twitter just because of these people, because it's a precious media that has recorded my thoughts and daily life."

This isn't the first time the columnist has come under fire for her actions. Last year in November, she was onSBS' 'Magic Eye' where she said, "When I seeJang Gi Ha, I imagine about how he'd be like in bed," and caused a controversy for her potentially sexually harassing remark toward Jang Gi Ha. When faced with that controversy, she responded by writing, "The show was not live but something recorded over a week ago. The fault lies completely with the staff for not properly judging whether it was proper for broadcast or not."
