Yang Hyun Suk dishes about Lee Hi's new album + 'Breathe' composed by Jonghyun

Media outletOSENrecently sat down with the one and only Yang Hyun Suk to delve deep intoLee Hi's first comeback in 3 years.

The CEO first revealed the reason for entrustingEpik High'sTabloandDJ Tukutzwith the album production, saying,"When Lee Hi's comeback was set, Tablo came to me and said, 'There are so few female solo artists working with hip-hop in Korea. I'd love to give a shot at hip-hop for Lee Hi's new album.' When they came to me with the finished work, my reaction was 'Admirable'."

As for the reason why the album was split in half for release, he answered,"To prolong the time period in which we can promote the many great songs on the album. Which is why the first half album has double title tracks, 'Hold My Hand' and 'Breathe'. I didn't find out until after we'd scheduled MV filming dates that 'Breathe' was composed bySHINee'sJonghyun."

Why did Tablo withhold the fact from YG?"He may have worried that I would've been biased if I'd known about Jonghyun. But I was pleasantly surprised to hear the news. I'm glad Tablo saw Jonghyun's potential,"replied Yang Hyun Suk.

The CEO also hinted that after the half album in March, the full album with all 10 songs will be out in approximately the next month!

It sounds like YG himself is taking quite a lot of pride in Lee Hi's upcoming album! You'll have to wait until March 9 to hear it for yourself!
