[ASKKPOP] Yang Hyun Suk is considering reporting sajaegi to prosecution again?

Yang Hyun Sukonce again exhibited his firm stance against the practice ofsajaegi, asserting, "As the sajaegi controversy is being thoroughly investigated, I have half a mind to report to prosecution once again."

AfteriKON's debut concert held this past October 3 at Seoul's Olympic Park, Yang Hyun Suk met with reporters to propose that investigators must examine the controversy related to sajaegi again.

The YG head, who, along withJYP EntertainmentandStar Empire Entertainment, had requested prosecution back in 2013 to investigate more into sajaegi, said, "At the time, the investigation petered out, but if need be, I will report once again to prosecution. I'll meetJ.Y. Parksoon forSBS's 'K-Pop Star,' and I plan to share my thoughts on this with him."

Yang Hyun Suk explained, "I don't think it's a difficult investigation. As J.Y. Park andLee Seung Hwansaid on TV, because sajaegi is rooted so deeply in the music industry, I think we can find out [who is practicing sajaegi] by perusing the brokers' ledgers and accounts and by analyzing the music chart data."

Yang Hyun Suk also brought up how iKON were swept up in the whole sajaegi debacle, as the media accused the group of manipulating the charts. He said, "Most music released by YG includingBig Bang's music placed number one [on the charts]. I think people may misunderstand. I've heard that brokers say, 'YG does [sajaegi] too so why don't you do it?' But I don't feel any way about it. I believe the controversy bubbled because [the media] were interested in us."

The YG founder concluded, "There are a lot of people negatively affected by sajaegi but it's usually the petty agencies with a low presence [that manipulate the charts]. That's the only way for them to rise on the charts and appear on TV. Because people take an interest in big agencies and we have fandoms, there is no need for us [to use sajaegi]. Agencies need to recognize that sajaegi is a crime. It's really shameful that they do it just because everyone else is doing it."
