Yoo Seung-ho goes for comedy in "Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River"

'The nation's little brother' is now a trusted actor.Yoo Seung-hois back with"Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River".

Yoo Seung-howas recently interviewed in Seoul and he was just a little boy who was shy unlike his perfect and cold(?) visual.

Q: You are attempting at a comedy with"Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River"

Yoo Seung-ho:I am not a fun person and I don't know how to speak humorously, so I was worried. But I hadKo Chang-seok,Ra Mi-ranandXiuminto talk with and overcome my worries.

"Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River"is a comedy. I thought of the staff as my audience when I acted.

I felt like a comedian, making the staff laugh. It's a happy thing, being able to make someone laugh. It's tough but the achievement is greater.

I didn't do this to make a change in my image. I started acting when I was young so I thought I didn't have a variety to choose from. I've always wanted to do something funny and this was my chance.

Q:"Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River"seems familiar

I don't know about the others, but Kim Seon-dal has never been used in other movies before so I think people were curious about this character.

Q: Is there anything you want to steal?

It's a happy thought, but I don't have anything I want in particular. If I have to choose something though, I would steal the country. Of course, it's a joke.

Q:"Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River"VS "The Joseon Magician"

They are both historical. But "The Joseon Magician" was based on romance between a man and a woman but"Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River"is a funny movie. The characters in both movies are also very different".

Q: What's the synchronizing percentage between you and Kim Seon-dal?

I am completely the opposite from him. Kim Seon-dal is confident and laid-back whereas I am not. It was tough relating to him.

DirectorPark Dae-minwanted more. However, in the end of the making, he said I was Kim Seon-dal-like.

I am not a sincere character but I am self-conscious and anxious. I was attracted to Kim Seon-dal because he was different from me and he looked like he was having a good time.

I don't frequently communicate with the public. I work alone in my world and I tried hard to approach them first.

I met friends and my parents while making the movie and they told me I became sly. This is thanks to Kim Seon-dal.

Q: How was working withXiumin?

The four frauds got along really well. We were sad to have to say goodbye. It was awkward seeing him dance and sing on stage.

Xiuminwas perfect for Gyeon Yi. He is energetic and bright so that's what helped him synchronize with the character.

Q: There was less romance in the movie.

I was okay with that. It's not like romance has to be the standard of everything. It's up to the audience to decide the relationship between me andSeo Ye-ji.

Romance is hard. Being evil and other dramatic characters can be imagined but mellow has to relate with the person watching the movie. I have a hard time with mellow because I can't find anything to relate with. I guess that's because I haven't had much experience with girls before.

Q:Yoo Seung-ho's dream?

I want to be known as an OK guy around the people I know. My parents always tell me not to be a nuisance to others so I want to be someone dependable.

Q: What should we watch out for in"Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River"?

The movie itself is a comfortable one without a message or 'lesson of the day'. It's a fun movie and we had fun making it so the audience should enjoy it too.
