Yoon Shi Yoon Talks About His Upcoming Drama And How “2 Days & 1 Night” Helped His Acting
In a recent pictorial and interview for The Star Magazine, Yoon Shi Yoon talked about his acting career and his next role.
The actor, who will be gracing the cover of the magazine’s June-July issue, recently starred in the historical drama “Grand Prince.” Just two days after the drama’s finale, he was already confirmed for his next starring role in the upcoming SBS drama “Dear Judge,” in which he will play a pair of identical twins who look exactly the same but lead entirely different lives.
Yoon Shi Yoon commented, “Because it was so soon after my drama [‘Grand Prince’] had ended, I was very cautious and thought carefully about the casting offer [for ‘Dear Judge’] before deciding to appear. In this drama, I’ll be showing an energetic side that is the complete opposite of my serious and restrained character in ‘Grand Prince.'”
He went on to share that although he enjoyed having free time again after the end of his drama, he knew it wouldn’t be long before he was itching to get back to work. “Right now, all I can think about are the things that I couldn’t do or the things I put off because I didn’t have time for them,” he said. “But I think that after a short while, I’ll be missing [acting in] dramas again.”
When asked about his own real-life personality, Yoon Shi Yoon remarked, “I’m a very emotional person. I’m hot-blooded and idealistic, and I enjoy contemplation.” Comparing himself to fireworks, he added, “My flame hasn’t gone out yet, and I think what’s important is that it’s burning.”
The actor also talked about his experience on KBS’s hit variety show “2 Days & 1 Night.” He recalled, “I felt a lot of pressure on ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ because I had to show myself exactly as I was, but that aspect of the show helped my acting a lot. I don’t think that an actor is guaranteed to receive love by only showing [the public] his cool side. Your true self-shows through in your acting and influences your roles, and I think when that becomes natural [for me], that’s when I’ve truly been acknowledged as a good actor.”
As for his future goals, Yoon Shi Yoon declared, “I’d like to be someone who’s always responsible. It’s important to maintain the mindset of always taking responsibility in order to be a good actor, a good man, and a good adult.”
