[ASKKPOP] 'Seoul Music Awards' responds to outrage at Junsu's absence + Junsu leaves vague post on Instagram
Junsufans were no doubt outraged when they discovered that Junsu never received an invite to attend the'25th Seoul Music Awards,'despite raking in nearly half of the votes under the ceremony's popularity category.
Indignant fans attempted to seek an explanation for this faux pas from 'The Minjoo Party of Korea's assemblywomanChoi Min Hee, raising their suspicions and questions regarding how the 'Seoul Music Awards' is operated. Fans directly addressed Choi on her Twitter, seeing that she was the one who had proposed the 'JYJ Law.'
Earlier, reps of 'Seoul Music Awards' had revealed that they would fully reflect the results of the subscription-based votes, which was conducted to determine Korea's most popular star of 2015. The results showed that Junsu was the most popular star this past year as he earned 46.7%, or nearly half, of the votes.
Though Junsu clearly placed first under the popularity category and reps from 'Seoul Music Awards' had stated that they would reflect the voting results, fans failed to hear or see any news of Junsu's invitation to the ceremony.
When fans raised this issue to 'Seoul Music Awards,' all they got was a vague response that went, "We formed this lineup based on the main prize category. We are not planning to send an invite to those under the popularity award category."
When Choi Min Hee got in touch with the 'Seoul Music Awards' organization committee, they reportedly told her, "We sent notice to Junsu's agency that we cannot invite the nominee of the popularity award."
Choi promised fans, "It's hard to wrap my head around this situation. If it turns out that there's unjustifiable cause, I will take care of it right away like I did with the 'JYJ Law.'"

Junsu himself has spoken up about this controversy on his Instagram, writing, "I feel terrible. Though I'm alright, if I dare try to imagine how you all feel, I resent myself for not being able to answer to all your love and sincerity. My heart is tearing to pieces knowing my inability to do anything. I owe you once again. I'm sorry."
