[ASKKPOP] miss A's Jia reveals she used to talk to J.Y.Park informally

On the October 20 edition ofSBSradio program, 'Kim Chang Ryul's Old School,'miss A'sJiarevealed that she used to speak informally toJ.Y. Parkbecause she had not yet fully grasped Korean culture at the time.

She said, "In China, everybody gets along like friends.  Even if you meet an adult, you greet simply."

Kim Chang Ryulasked, "Was there ever a time you were flustered in Korea because you did not know Korean culture?"  She replied, "At first, I replied to Producer J.Y. Park informally."  As many K-Pop fans know, there is a formal and informal way to speak, and it was socially expected to speak formally to elders and strangers.

She continued, "Producer J.Y. Park asked me if I had eaten, so I replied informally, 'Yeah.' I didn't grasp the concept of formal speech and informal speech.  My expression was confident, too, so I created misunderstandings."

She wouldn't be the only one!Henrypreviously revealedthat he, too, had difficulty overcoming the culture barrier when it came to greetings.
