"Pride and Prejudice" A happy ending: Jeong Chan sentenced to prison time

On the final episode of the MBC drama"Pride and Prejudice", the public safety team succeeded in sentencing Choi Gwang-gook (Jeong Chan) to prison for misusing his power as a powerful authority figure. It was the victory of the team which tracked down the case until the end.

Choi Gwang-gook and the public safety team stood face to face in trial. Goo Dong-chi (Choi Jin-hyeok) questioned Gwang-gook's attorney Oh Do-jeong (Kim Yeo-jin) about the Han-byeol case and not only did Do-jeong deny all the facts, she also cornered Goo Dong-chi's witnesses: Kang-soo (Lee Tae-hwan), Song Ah-reum (Gwak Ji-min) and Goo Yeong-bae.

The trial was not on Goo Dong-chi's favor as he didn't have the real evidence but the team had Jeong Chang-gi (Son Chang-min) and Moon Hee-man (Choi Min-soo). Jeong Chang-gi had pretended to be mentally ill after the accident and tried his best to get evidence in secret. Han Yeol-moo (Baek Jin-hee), Lee Jang-won (Choi Woo-sik) and Yoo Gwang-mi (Jeong Hye-seong) were able to get evidence that Gwang-gook did kill Han-byeol.

Moon Hee-man surprised Lee Jong-gon (Noh Joo-hyeon) who stated wrongfully, by taking out evidence in recordings. This was the moment Jong-gon fell to the ground and lose his right as witness.

While the case was being heated up in the courtroom, Jang-won and Gwang-mi came into the court room with the final evidence. They submitted Baek-gom's recording file as evidence. Moon Hee-man said, "Baek-gom used to press the button every time he met someone new. He'd gone back to get this that night. There's one thing that wasn't buried with him and that's the recording". Choi Gwang-gook was charged with 20 years for murder and the public safety team won.

However, they lost something too. It was Goo Dong-chi's investigator badge. When his father gave his statement as the murderer of Baek-gom, Goo Dong-chi handed his identification and said, "Baek-gom didn't die from the blow of a hammer. It was a steel pipe that killed him. I am the one who killed Baek-gom". Goo Dong-chi knew he had more to lose if he said this but he did it for his father anyways.

Moon Hee-man also was at risk. After he turned away from Hwa-yeong and booked Choi Gwang-gook, he got into his car but Hwa-yeong was in the back seat. He accepted this fact and closed his eyes.

Still, it was a happy ending. Three years after the trial, Goo Dong-chi became a lawyer and reunited with Han Yeol-moo on another case.
