Yein was born on June 4, 1998 in Incheon , South Korea .
She attended Kusan Middle School and later Christian International School.
She was a trainee of JYP Entertainment . On July 3, 2014, she auditioned for Woollim Entertainment for four months and debuted in Lovelyz under the Woolim Company on November 17, 2014.
