The long-legged, tall actor, is well-known for his easy-going manner, good looks, and fit body. But one thing that's been bothering him... Gong Yoo graduated with B.A. degree and is still working on his M.A. degree in performing arts at Kyung Hee University . He started his career in showbiz with small parts in dramas and films. He first lead role was inHello My Teacherin 2005. His acting talent caught the attention of casting directors and audiences and he has become an actor to watch. His role as Choi Han-Kyul in the MBC romantic comedyThe 1st Shop of Coffee Princesolidified his status as a leading man. The popularity of the drama made it one of Korea's most watched dramas of 2007, and made Gong Yoo a hallyu star. He had a fan meeting in Japan after he finished military service in 2010.

The actor finished his mandatory service in the Korean Armed Forces, which started on January 14, 2008 and ended on December 8, 2009.

He served as a DJ forG.yoo20at the Radio Broadcast section of the Korean Defense Media Agencyfrom November 3, 2008 to November 8, 2009 which aired 20:00-22:00 in Korea and Internet daily. He also served as a VJ for 'Best Music'at the Agency's Television Broadcast section which aired every Thursday 11:00-12:00 in Korea and the Internet from December 2, 2008 to July 16, 2009.
