Nine Muses( Korean :나인뮤지스, often stylized asNINE MUSESor9MUSES) is a South Korean girl group formed by Star Empire Entertainment in 2010 with an admissions and graduation concept. The group currently consists of five members: Sungah (on hiatus), Kyungri, Hyemi, Sojin, and Keumjo.

2010–2011: Debut and line-up changesedit

was produced by composers Rainstone and Park Jin Young . In October, Jaekyung withdrew from the group to focus on her modeling career and was replaced by Hyuna.To advance into the Japanese market, on December 26, 2010, Nine Muses performed six songs on Seoul Train, an event in which K-pop artists and groups perform for their Japanese fans, alongside V.O.S. and ZE:A .

promotional period, Star Empire announced that the group name would be changed to 'Sweet Candy', as it would confuse people if Nine Muses was a group with only 7 members. A month later, Star Empire confirmed that the group name was not changing, because in the future Star Empire would add two new members to the group, once again making Nine Muses a 9-member group.

2012–2013: New members andPrima Donnaedit

Nine Muses released music video for their digital singleNewson January 10 and the single was officially released on January 11, 2012. The song was produced by Sweetune , who was also behind their "Figaro" single.

Ticket. On May 25, they released two music videos for their new military campaign song "My Youth's Allegiance"On December 12, Star Empire introduced new member Sungah.

Star Empire later added two new members: Jo Sojin, who debuted with Nasty Nasty, and Lee Keumjo. Nine Muses held theirDramashowcase on January 21, 2015 with a new eight member line-up and performed their title-track "Drama" for the first time. The showcase was broadcast live onYouTube.

Followed by their fifth mini album "Lost", released on November 24.

2016: First concert, line-up change and Nine Muses Aedit

on February 19 at Wapop Hall in Seoul Children's Grand Park and also held two fan meets in China.

2017: Sungah's hiatus,Muses Diary Part.2 : Identity, second concert andMuses Diary Part.3 : Love Cityedit

Nine Muses remained as a four-member group due to Sungah taking hiatus to pursue her work as DJ.[citation needed]The group releasing extended playMuses Diary Part.2 : Identityon June 19, it was a series of "Muses Diary" from their Nine Muses A debut albums. The album contains six tracks, with the lead single titled "Remember".

On August 3, a repackaged version ofMuses Diary Part.2 : Identity, titledMuses Diary Part.3 : Love City, was released. This edition contains of four tracks fromMuses Diary Part.2 : Identityand two new songs including the title track "Love City".
